Foiling, embossing and debossing

I wanted to take initiative and learn a skill I haven't learnt about before. This is a technique I've been fond of and wanted to learn more about.

I wasn't that confident with this before but doing this workshop has helped a lot with this. I'd like to use this technique further for future projects.

The process was relatively easy to follow:

1. Keep the design face up

2. Keep the foil of your choice in position and place it between a sheet of text weight paper folded in half

3. Apply heat with the use of hard surface (such as an iron) for thirty seconds or so

The outcome

I enjoyed this way of creating lettering. Although the outcome isn't perfect but I learnt a lot from learning about this process.

Embossing

Few more attempts

The technique

Dampened paper rolled with shape underneath, rolled with rolling paper.

Put under a roller press this technique of rolling is the most effective.

Stock

Used a variety of stock to experiment with and test the effectiveness of with embossing and debossing. The thickness of the stock effects the outcome greatly.

I used a few different materials to experiment with.
