Within Intern magazine there was a featured interview from Kate Moross titled "A Dirty Word"
This particular aspect of the magazine is Moross' encouragement for creatives not to worry about their CV and to focus on your actions more than anything. Her attitude towards design is refreshing, to say the least, and in reading this brought some new perspective.
Questions
I only asked one question as there was limited time but I felt this was an important to my own practice
"Whats your advice in finding your confidence as a designer and possibly lacking the confidence in contacting and networking with others?"
Answer
"In being confident in finding a way of networking it's up to you really, these days with social media and such there is a platform anyone to talk to anyone which I would say to utilise to the best of your ability, everyone has their different methods"
What I took away from this experience
- Be open to asking for advice from others and taking more consideration of the value of it
- Be a lot more proactive within interactions and experiences within the design industry and how beneficial they can be towards practice
How will this inform my individual practice?
- Exploring more ways of communicating with other creatives.
- Not to be afraid to ask for advice/help with others
