Memorial is a town in Greencountry in the United States (Massachusetts) In Puritan American history it's very significant.
Dan Brackenbury's work exhibits various locations in this area, the idea of the work is to create a sense of narrative through the work for the viewer to decide.
The work sets a certain tone, the photos were obviously taken in the winter around Christmas and the darkness of the outside and the light inside implies a liveliness inside the different houses, we don't see this so we are made to make up our own minds.
The way the work is spread out across the room allows for each piece to be looked at individually while walking around.
I really like the tone that this work sets, they are immersive and feel almost like you're looking from the outside in the actual location. I also like the simplicity of the concept, and the diversity in the different photos make them interesting.
